Staying the Weekend in Bathurst, New Brunswick – Day 40

We decided to stay in Bathurst today, tomorrow and Sunday. The weather will improve Sunday and we will take the following 3 days to then enjoy the New Brunswick coast before heading over to Prince Edward Island next Wednesday afternoon. We rented an Enterprise car (great deal) and are having fun exploring the area around Bathurst.

Another shot of a real jewel!

One of many lovely streams running down to the sea in the Bathurst area. Terrific salmon fishing I hear.

A home in NB decorated with Acadian items and colors.

Just NW of Bathurst along the coast is the small town of Youghhall Beach. Here we see a lobsterman's traps stacked up as the season is just ending.

  1. O dear. Canada Day IS July 1. However this house depicts the Acadian flag related to the north of NB . I am enjoying following your voyages. I also hope you get a chance to detour into the Bay of Fundy and check out the St John river. A gem. Called The Rhine of North America. Come see for yourself ! 🙂

    • Hi Jim and thank you very much for the help on clarifying what the political implications of the house with flag, etc. might be. I changed what I said about it on this blog. We want to stay away from politics on this site. I have heard that the St. John river is beautiful. Will try to get there and see it.
