We woke up in Lunenburg, NS and went on a nice walk. Cari and Sue Dietrich then did some fun shopping and then drove the rented car to Shelburne, NS. John and I took the boat to Shelburne and had a terrific time along the coast exploring.

A lovely Lunenburg home.

An incredible array of flowers growing at the Lunenburg home.

We found a walking and bike trail just outside Lunenburg…and the wild raspberries were ripe and calling for us to stop and pick them. We did!

We passed homes on cliffs with amazing views just outside Lunenburg.

The water was very calm except for long rolling 3-4 foot swells. Here we finally see another power boat. The only one we will see all day except for 2 row boats with kicker engines. Not a lot of boat traffic anywhere along the coast except right around the larger towns.

Fabulous weather and calm seas as we head toward Shelburne, NS.

Lots of islands and points of land, many with a majestic lighthouse such as this one.

We swung into the harbor of Lockeport to take a look. This is the lighthouse just outside of their harbor.

Inside the Lockeport Harbor we found 7-8 commercial lobster boats at the two docks. Very colorful.

In the Lockeport Harbor.

Exiting the Lockeport Harbor, another great view of their lighthouse.

A mile or so offshore from Lockeport is this weather beaten lighthouse with many stories to tell.

The fish were calling to John, who had not fished since he was a boy. Here John is bringing up a haddock from about 80 feet down.

Not a keeper John but a fun fish to catch after so long. Well done.

The lighthouse as you enter the outer wide inlet leading to Shelburne, NS.

The Shelburne Yacht Club and Marina. A very nice, full service facility! It’s so nice to find good docks with plenty of 30 amp power, fresh water on the docks and very nice facilities inside. This is a great place to stay.

They also offer sailing lessons.
