Guess What? Still in Bathurst, NB – Day 41

Guess where we are? That’s right, still in Bathurst, NB due to windy conditions on the ocean. We rented a car and had a great day of exploring some of the interior of New Brunswick, a beautiful province.

We headed mostly west from Bathurst in St. Anne Rd. and then road #180 for a couple of hours. Beautiful woods, streams and rolling hills.

There were periodic signs of logging all along the way. Here is one such area where we were able to turn off the highway onto the short logging road for a good view.

Although we heard that there were lots of moose in the area, this is the only one we saw.

Lots of trees and bushes of all kinds. It reminds us almost of a rain forest it is so lush and thick.

Mile after mile of forest as far as one can see.

We turned off the main road and drove on this side road for a few miles. Love the beech and birch trees. We also came around a corner and saw a large very black bear. He saw us too and headed into the woods fast.

We contacted a couple that were from Alberta, CA who were serving for 18 months in the greater Bathurst area…James and Lorainne Shields. We had a delightful dinner with them. They are doing much good.
