In getting ready to depart into Canada, turned on my GPS for navigation, and no Canadian maps…

Day 15, frustrations of a gps chart that is not working correctly! Spent the day talking to Raymarine, Navionics and Bosun’s Marine. The map was supposed to cover Canada…the next leg of our trip…but Canadian information was missing. No one seemed to know for sure how to fix it. Did we need a software upgrade? Was the mapping data somehow not what we ordered? After 6 hours on our screens and cell phone call after call I decided to try switching the two micro chips around in our two gps units since one unit is supposed to be the primary driver and the other the slave. The moment I switched the two chips the screens flashed up the full mapping of both USA and Canada with all the navigation details I needed!
Actually, we were told today that the salad dressing was created here in this area, or at least named for it. Bruno V says he thought the Boldt Castle was really cool. It sure is amazing how many houses are built on little pieces of islands here! And people sure like to boat in this area! Obviously…as it’s the only way to get around. 🙂
